Camp Davidson, South Africa

Camp Davidson is inspired by the old outspan camps of E.A. Davidson, who in the early 1900s travelled through the region with his wagon, trading goods. That early camp atmosphere has been beautifully captured here. Canvas tents on wooden decks are nestled among sandstone ridges overlooking the reserve. Each tent has its own en suite bathroom with a shower. The camp runs entirely on solar energy and also features a pool with a deck. Wi-Fi is available in some of the tents as well as in the main tent.

Bellevue Lodges, South Africa

Bellevue Reserve offers two different lodges – Savannah and Syringa – where you will spend one night, most often at Savannah. Both lodges are tastefully decorated, with spacious and comfortable living areas, a pool overlooking the savannah, and dining spaces both indoors and outdoors.

Savannah

Savannah is the essence of a true African bush lodge. Four rondavels, all with private bathrooms, are set on a shared wooden deck in a semi-circle, overlooking both the pool, the savannah, and a nearby waterhole where wildlife often gathers. The living spaces flow seamlessly onto an elegant, thatched veranda in traditional style, leading out to the pool deck with the untouched wilderness as a backdrop. From the lodge’s lookout point, you can rest in the afternoon shade or take out binoculars to follow the wildlife drama unfolding before your eyes.

Syringa

Syringa is a charming whitewashed stone lodge that feels more like a private home than a hotel. Stepping inside is like entering someone’s living room – warm, welcoming, and personal. It features beautifully decorated double rooms and several stylishly tiled bathrooms shared between guests. From the pool, which overlooks the savannah, you can enjoy the ever-present wildlife and the endless horizon. Ostriches often wander close, sometimes all the way up to the fence surrounding Syringa.

Two Mashatu, Botswana

Two Mashatu Campsite lies in the shade of two giant Mashatu trees, from which it takes its name. At the heart of the camp are two traditionally built Lala Palm rondavels that serve as the dining and lounge areas. Accommodation consists of large A-frame tents (twin-share), each on a raised teak platform with private en suite bathrooms. Every tent is secluded under the shade of a tree in the bush, yet close to the main area. The camp also has a swimming pool for cooling off. After dark, a guide always escorts you between your tent and the shared spaces

Tree Camp, Botswana

If you ever dreamed of sleeping in a tree as a child, that dream will come true here. Tree Camp is built between the branches of a giant Mashatu tree and two ancient Leadwood trees. Accommodation is four meters above the ground, on a Seligna platform with a cool, netted sleeping area shared by two guests. A short walkway, also suspended in the tree, leads to shared showers and toilets (four of each). Dining takes place right next to the sleeping platforms, with sweeping views over the Majale River. This is the kind of camp you’ll still be talking about for years to come.

Kgotla, Botswana

Kgotla is a traditional village court that has been relocated from a nearby village to the banks of the Motloutse River in the western part of Mashatu. Here, you fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wildlife all around, in your own small woven-roofed hut arranged in a circle around a central campfire. The only enclosure is a sturdy fence of Leadwood logs, creating a safe yet atmospheric stay right in the heart of the bush. Guests share four beautiful open-air showers with hot water and standard flush toilets – a perfect balance between comfort and an authentic wilderness experience.

Your final day in the saddle begins with a ride from Tree Camp back to the stables. The Tuli landscape provides a dramatic backdrop: baobabs, rocky cliffs and open plains where elephants, giraffes, zebras and antelopes are often seen in the golden morning light.

At the stables, you say goodbye to your horses – now ready for a well-earned rest – and thank them for the adventure before changing clothes, enjoying brunch, and beginning the journey home. The adventure ends here, but the memories from your days on horseback will live on long after.
