The safari combines three different wilderness areas in the southern Lowveld – Mauricedale Game Reserve, Kruger National Park, and Mjejane Private Game Reserve. The horse riding takes place at Mauricedale, while Kruger and Mjejane are explored by safari vehicles. This offers a combination of close-up nature experiences from horseback and classic Big Five safari. Mauricedale Game Reserve is an approximately 7,000-hectare private reserve just south of Malelane Gate, about 14 kilometres from Kruger National Park. The landscape is typical of the Lowveld, with savannah, woodland, and denser bush. Here, the safari's horse riding takes place among giraffe, zebra, kudu, impala, waterbuck, and duiker, but the reserve also hosts larger and potentially more dangerous species such as African buffalo, hippopotamus, and crocodile. Leopard and aardvark also occur, although sightings of them are rarer. Kruger National Park is instead explored by safari vehicle on two days of the week. Here, the focus is on the classic safari experience and the chance to encounter an even wider spectrum of Africa's wildlife. In the operator's material, lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, African wild dog, and hyena are listed as species you might have the opportunity to see during the excursions. Mjejane Private Game Reserve is visited for an overnight stay in the middle of the week. The reserve is directly adjacent to Kruger and has an open border with the national park, meaning animals can move freely between the areas. Here, both an afternoon safari and an early morning safari are conducted by vehicle, providing further opportunities for encounters with the area's big game before the journey continues back to Mauricedale.
