Non-rider?
For those who do not ride, there is the opportunity to follow the safari via game drives, hikes, or bike rides, and experience the same landscapes and wildlife from the ground. Kaskazi has special programs for non-riders, allowing friends and family to travel together and share the safari experience in their own way.
Accommodation
During the Serengeti Migration Ride, three different types of accommodation are combined for an authentic wilderness experience. The journey begins with a night at a lodge to unwind after the flight, followed by several nights in Kaskazi's private mobile camp, which moves through the Serengeti side-by-side with the migration. Mid-week is spent in a simpler fly camp — an unfiltered experience that places you right in the savannah. The tents are designed to provide comfort while maintaining close contact with nature, making the accommodation a central part of the experience.
Mobile Camp, 6 nights
Fly Camp, 1 night
Lodge, 1 night
The mobile camp is a thoughtful and comfortable base in the heart of the wilderness. The spacious 4 × 4 meter tents are homemade for safari purposes, with mosquito-netted doors and windows for ventilation and insect protection. Each tent is equipped with real beds with cotton sheets, a carpet, bedside tables, towel racks, a water bottle, and solar lighting. Outside, there is a veranda with two chairs and a sink shared with your tent partner. Each tent has its own bush toilet and a traditional bucket shower – simple, private, and surprisingly comfortable. The camp moves throughout the week, allowing you to constantly be in the midst of the migration and landscape changes.

Programme, Sergenti Migration Ride
This program serves as a guiding overview of the day's schedule. Changes may occur due to migration movements, weather conditions, and other factors beyond the organiser's control. Any adjustments are always made with safety, wildlife, and the overall safari experience in mind.
Day 1
Arrival in Tanzania
Arrival in the late afternoon and check-in at the lodge where you can relax by the pool, on the veranda, or simply enjoy the tranquility. At sunset, the guide meets the group for an initial briefing and a drink with a bush view. If a polo match is taking place, there is an opportunity to watch it before dinner is served. The evening concludes with an introduction to the safari and a good night's sleep in comfortable lodge rooms. For early arrivals, golf, spa or a peaceful horseback ride can be arranged in advance.
Day 2
Fly into the Serengeti & first riding session
After breakfast, a short transfer awaits to a private airstrip and a scenic flight over the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon landing in the Serengeti, a 2–3 hour game drive follows, providing your first encounter with the landscape and wildlife. When you arrive at the camp, lunch and a briefing await, followed by an introduction to your four-legged companion for the coming days. In the afternoon, a first short riding session will take place before you return to the camp for sundowners and dinner under the stars.
Day 3
First full day on horseback
The day starts with breakfast in the morning light before the morning ride goes out across open plains and with a good chance of spotting wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, jackals, and hyenas. After lunch and a siesta in the camp, an afternoon session is waiting, followed by drinks and dinner under the night sky. A gentle but content-rich introduction to the rhythm of the safari.
Day 4
Movement through the heart of migration
On this day, you will move the camp for the first time to a new location, and the day begins with a longer riding session through open grassy meadows and along dry riverbeds, in search of elephants and traces of predators. Lunch is served picnic-style outdoors, followed by a short rest. The afternoon offers more riding hours in the golden light towards the next campsite. The evening concludes with dinner and rest in the new location, surrounded by the sounds of the savannah at night.
Day 5
New fields & long gallops
With new areas to explore, both the pace and the views shift. The day often offers longer canters and the opportunity to ride side by side with giraffes. After lunch and rest in camp, a calmer afternoon ride awaits. A day that combines speed, and the feeling of being completely immersed in the rhythm of the Serengeti.
Day 6
New moving day & overnight stay in Flycamp
You ride across plains that are often teeming with over two million animals during calving season — the grunting of the wildebeests and the presence of predators are palpable. Lunch is served in the shade of a tree before you switch from horses to safari vehicles for a game drive in an area known for its high concentration of big cats. This evening and night are spent in a fly camp – mosquito net tents, a campfire, shared facilities, and dinner under the open sky. One of the journey's most spectacular and authentic overnight experiences.
Day 7
Sunrise, Olduvai Gorge & new campsite
The day starts before dawn with coffee and a game drive in the morning light in search of big cats. Breakfast is served before you return to the horses for continued riding towards the iconic Olduvai Gorge. Here, natural history meets humanity's earliest traces, providing a unique sense of perspective. After lunch in the shade, the ride continues towards the next camp, beautifully positioned for the remaining days of the safari.
Day 8
Last riding day in the Serengeti
You're approaching the Ngorongoro Highlands where the air becomes cooler and the views dramatically open up. In clear weather, Ol Doinyo Lengai — Tanzania's only active volcano — can be seen rising from the landscape. If the rains have fallen, additional parts of the migration may gather on the plains. After lunch at the camp, the final afternoon ride awaits before the evening concludes with a festive farewell dinner.
