Signature Safari takes place in South Africa's beautiful Waterberg region and offers a deeper experience of one of the country's most varied and underrated safari areas. Here you'll find bushveld and wilderness in the heart of Limpopo Province.
Waterberg is a UNESCO-protected biosphere reserve, known for its dramatic sandstone formations, rolling mountain landscapes and rich biodiversity. The landscape here differs from many other safari areas in southern Africa. Instead of endless flat savannahs, the area is characterised by hilly terrain, red cliffs, open grasslands, dense bushveld and dry riverbeds that change character with the day and the light.
The areas offer excellent opportunities for long riding stretches through varied scenery, where on the same day you can move between open plains, shady woodland and elevated viewpoints over the Waterberg valleys.
The wildlife in the area is rich and varied. On safari, there is the chance to see giraffe, zebra, hippopotamus, wildebeest, kudu, nyala, impala, waterbuck, eland, warthog, baboon and ostrich, as well as predators such as jackal. Both leopard and hyena are found in the areas, but are rarely seen. Birdlife is also abundant, and Waterberg is known for its great diversity of species, both animal and plant.
